“The success of Survive and Save provides other clubs with a best practice template to achieve diversity within their own membership. Adams-King believes if more clubs adopt a similar approach it will help increase the diversity of competitive swimming as a whole. As the governing body for swimming the ASA is committed to achieving equality and Survive and Save Club is a fantastic example of a club integrating into its local community and attracting people from different faiths and ethnic communities.” said Anne Adams-King, ASA Director of English Programmes. The Club is constantly striving to develop our team through our extensive training and development programme. We currently have a dedicated team of over 40 people supporting the club’s activities which include 20 teachers (covering lifesaving & swimming) and trainer/assessors. Many of our team are youth members of the club. A significant majority of the team and its club members represent the diverse ethnic minority community. |
