The Survive and Save Club was founded in 1970 at Porchester Baths and moved to Harrow Leisure Centre when it opened in 1975. The club operates on Friday nights between 7pm and 10pm. We are affiliated to both the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) and the Royal Lifesaving Society UK (RLSS UK).


The club is an Approved Training Centre for the RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Programme and in conjunction with Survive and Save Training Ltd, an ASA Approved Centre to run courses leading to ASA Teacher and Coach certification. In addition, we hold the ASA Swim 21 Teacher accreditation for Teaching and the Sport England Clubmark award. We have also been accredited the Aquamark - ASA Approved Scheme for Teaching and Coaching of Swimming for our quality learn to swim programme. We are the first club in the country to receive this accreditation

We pride ourselves on being a friendly family club.  Some of our members started as beginners, progressed through stroke improvers to lifesaving and are now club officers, teachers and/or lifeguards.

Our club is committed to the development of teachers and we have a number of very specialist trainers, tutors and teachers. We are a unique club specialising in teaching swimming through the ASA National Plan for Teaching Swimming and provide lifesaving classes / courses from the Rookie Lifeguard to the Distinction award and the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
